Abstract£º
Compared with the previous generation video coding standard H.264/AVC,the compression efficiency of new video coding standard HEVC/H.265 increased by nearly 50%.However,due to the high latency problem caused by high computational complexity when coding vedio, the HEVC standard faces a great challenge in the process of commercialization. Therefore, this paper starts from the perspective of mode selection process for intra prediction in HEVC,it is concluded that the first and second candidate mode generated by the rough selection process are the most likely to be the final prediction mode though a large number of experimental statistics. We analyze the relationship between the first and second mode and image texture complexity, and proposed a fast mode decision algorithm for intra prediction. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce the encoding time by 22% on average while ensuring the coding compression rate and coding quality.
